German Potato Salad

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 6 slices bacon
  • 6 potatoes
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 -2 tablespoon flour
  • 1 -2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • salt and pepper

Recipe

  • 1 cook potatoes- with skins on until tender.
  • 2 let cool and cut in bite size chunks.
  • 3 fry bacon in pan- drain and cool bacon on paper towel- reserve fat.
  • 4 saute onion in bacon fat until soft.
  • 5 add flour sugar, water and vinegar.
  • 6 boil and then reduce heat- should become a nice thick sauce.
  • 7 when sauce is thick add potatoes back in and crumble bacon over.
  • 8 serve immediately- while hot!
