- 4 large green tomatoes
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour or 1/2 cup cornmeal
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- bacon drippings or salad oil
Recipe
- 1 cut tomatoes into 1/4" slices.
- 2 combine flour, salt and pepper; dredge tomato slices with this mixture.
- 3 place in heavy skillet containing hot bacon drippings.
- 4 fry slowly until brown, turning once.
