Grilled Stuffed Onions In Their Skins (foil Wrapped)

Ingredients
- Servings: 4
- 4 yellow onions (about 2 1/2 inches in diameter, choose onions with skins firmly in place)
- 1 1/2 teaspoons thyme
- 1 1/2 teaspoons sage
- 1 1/2 teaspoons crushed tarragon leaves
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/4 cup butter or 1/4 margarine, melted
- 1/2 cup fresh breadcrumb
Recipe
- 1 slice off stem and roots ends of the onions, leaving skins in place.
- 2 prepare a square baking pan by lining it with foil.
- 3 cut a cone shaped hole in the top of the onions without cutting through the bottom of the onion.
- 4 set onions in the pan on their roots.
- 5 stir spices and sugar into the melted butter.
- 6 add the bread crumbs.
- 7 stir until well mixed.
- 8 spoon the bread mixture into each onion.
- 9 wrap in foil and grill with your steak on the grill, turning often.
- 10 you can also bake in a 400 degree preheated oven for about an hour or until onion is fork tender.
- 11 serve immediately.
