Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients
- Servings: 4
- 2 large idaho baking potatoes (approximately 2 lbs total)
- 1 head garlic
- 1 (5 ounce) can evaporated milk
- 2 tablespoons butter
- salt
- pepper
Recipe
- 1 peel potatoes and cut into 1/2 inch thick slices.
- 2 peel garlic into individual cloves.
- 3 simmer potato slices and garlic cloves in a sauce pan with enough water to barely cover.
- 4 once the potatoes are tender, drain the water from the pan, reserving 1/2 cup of water.
- 5 mash the potatoes with the evaporated milk and butter.
- 6 depending upon the size of the potatoes you may need more liquid.
- 7 you can use some of the reserved potato water, or more butter, or regular milk.
- 8 i usually use regular milk.
- 9 season to taste with salt and butter.
