Dilly Green Beans

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 8 ounces balsamic vinegar or 8 ounces wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons minced fresh dill or 1 1/2-2 teaspoons dried dill weed
  • 1 lb green beans, trimmed and rinsed
  • slivered almonds, to garnish (to garnish)

Recipe

  • 1 in a mixing bowl, whisk together the oil, vinegar, sugar and dill.
  • 2 set aside.
  • 3 steam the beans, or parboil them, only until they are crisp-tender, approximately three minutes, depending on size of beans.
  • 4 drain thoroughly.
  • 5 add the beans to the dressing.
  • 6 toss and stir to thoroughly coat the beans.
  • 7 add salt and pepper to taste, and then let the beans come to room temperature, stirring occasionally.
  • 8 garnish with almonds and serve immediately, or refrigerate until needed.
