Garden Green Beans With Bacon

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 25 mins Cook Time: 35 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 4 slices bacon, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 1 cup red onion, separated into rings
  • 3 tablespoons butter or 3 tablespoons margarine
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Recipe

  • 1 in 3 qt saucepan place beans and bacon; add enough water to cover, bring to a full boil, cover, cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until beans are crispy tender, drain.
  • 2 return beans to pan; add remaining ingredients, cook over medium heat stirring occasionally until onion is crispy tender.
  • 3 serve hot.
