Karen's Fried Green Tomatoes

Ingredients

- 3 green tomatoes
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 cup butter
Recipe
- 1 slice tomatoes into 1/3 inch slices.
- 2 evenly sprinkle both sides of each tomato with the sugar, salt, and pepper.
- 3 melt one stick of butter in a large pan over medium heat.
- 4 beat together the milk and eggs.
- 5 dip each tomato in flour then dip in the eggs. dredge in the flour until thoroughly covered.
- 6 place tomatoes in the pan and cook over the medium heat until golden brown on one side (approximately 5-7 minutes). flip and cook the other side until golden brown. as you fry the the tomatoes, add more butter as needed.
