Easy Black Beans

Total Time: 2 hrs 30 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 2 hrs

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 medium green pepper, chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 (15 ounce) cans unseasoned black beans (i prefer goya)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup wine
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cider vinegar

Recipe

  • 1 put olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.
  • 2 add onions and green peppers and saute until onions are translucent.
  • 3 add minced garlic and saute for several more minutes.
  • 4 add beans, oregano, cumin, salt and wine. bring to a boil and reduce heat to low.
  • 5 simmer for about 2 hours.
  • 6 just before serving stir in sugar and vinegar.
