Far Eastern Rutabagas

Total Time: 20 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 2 lbs rutabagas
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons canola oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced scallion

Recipe

  • 1 peel the rutabagas and cut into ½ inch chunks.
  • 2 place in a saucepan, cover with cold water and cook over medium heat until tender, about 20 minutes.
  • 3 drain. return to the pan and stir over medium heat until all the excess moisture evaporates, about 2 minutes.
  • 4 in a large frying pan, combine the soy sauce, canola oil, sesame oil, garlic and pepper.
  • 5 heat for 4 minutes. add the rutabagas and toss to combine.
  • 6 heat for 2 minutes. sprinkle with the scallions.
