Far Eastern Rutabagas

Ingredients

- 2 lbs rutabagas
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 1/2 teaspoons canola oil
- 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper
- 1/4 cup thinly sliced scallion
Recipe
- 1 peel the rutabagas and cut into ½ inch chunks.
- 2 place in a saucepan, cover with cold water and cook over medium heat until tender, about 20 minutes.
- 3 drain. return to the pan and stir over medium heat until all the excess moisture evaporates, about 2 minutes.
- 4 in a large frying pan, combine the soy sauce, canola oil, sesame oil, garlic and pepper.
- 5 heat for 4 minutes. add the rutabagas and toss to combine.
- 6 heat for 2 minutes. sprinkle with the scallions.
