Granny's Apples And Rice

Ingredients
- Servings: 6
- 1 1/4 cups uncooked brown rice
- 4 tablespoons butter or 4 tablespoons margarine, divided
- 2 1/2 cups chunky applesauce
- 1 cup cubed apple
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 3/4 teaspoons ground cinnamon, divided
- 1 dash salt
Recipe
- 1 cook rice according to package direction.
- 2 add 2 tablespoons of butter to hot rice and stir.
- 3 mix in applesauce, apples, brown sugar, 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon and salt.
- 4 pour into a greased 2 quart casserole dish.
- 5 dot with remaining butter.
- 6 sprinkle remaining cinnamon evenly on top.
- 7 bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 35 minutes or until thoroughly heated.
