Geelrys (yellow Rice)

Ingredients
- Servings: 4
- 1 cup long grain rice
- 4 cups boiling water
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons turmeric
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1 tablespoon butter
Recipe
- 1 place rice, water, brown sugar, salt, turmeric and cinnamon stick in a pot.
- 2 boil over high heat 20 minutes.
- 3 drain excess water.
- 4 add remaining ingredients and steam rice until soft and fluffy.
- 5 remove cinnamon stick before serving.
